Steve Greene is the founder of Dalmatian Productions, Inc. Steve became interested in audio/video in elementary school where he learned to operate every projector and recorder in the buildings. When he entered Junior High (Middle School in some states) the school was connected to the high school and had a black-and-white television studio. In college, he was very involved in college radio. At a summer camp in western MA, Steve worked at a summer camp and was in charge of the radio, television and electronics programs for four years. While there, he also worked with a group of mentally and emotionally challenged campers and saw what a positive impact the use of video/television had with these young men and women. For the parents' conference at the end of the season, Steve produced a comedy newscast, "Eyeball News," using these campers as newscasters, sportscasters, as well as weather and community reporters. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. When he returned to grad school, he studied toward a major in broadcast education. Steve was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for eight years in Guilford County NC and Onondaga County NY, certified in basic firefighting l and II, hydraulics/pump ops and high-level rescue, until an injury sidelined his active duty. While Steve had to leave the fire service, the fire service never left him.
In 2016, at the urging of mentors and friends on social media, Steve launched his podcast, "5-Alarm Task Force." While his aim was to have maybe 20-25 firefighters listen to this new media, Steve found that his podcast had grown "legs" and he now has listeners in nearly forty countries, across six of the seven continents.
As Steve was preparing for the fifth season of "5-Alarm task Force," he had a gut feeling that there was more that he could do. Discussing this with family, friends and other advisors, the solution appeared to be creating a new, non-profit corporation that would not only serve and protect the podcast, but allow Steve and his team the opportunity to actually help firefighters and/or their families and even other first responders as well, by providing tangible assistance derived from donations to the cause. Thus, the 5-Alarm Task Force Corp. was created.
